A collection of short stories penned by young Nigerian writers. These stories were developed during the Senator Chris Nwankwo Youth Creativity Class. Supported by Chief Chris Nwankwo, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Representing Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone, this initiative is run by the Ugreen Foundation.
Novelist, poet, and literary scholar, Mukoma Wa Ngugi is the author of Nairobi Heat (Penguin, SA 2009, Melville House Publishing, 2011), an anthology of poetry titled Hurling Words at Consciousness (AWP, 2006) and is a political columnist for the BBC Focus on Africa Magazine. He was shortlisted for the Caine Prize for African Writing in 2009 and for the Penguin Prize for African Writing in 2010. Mukoma holds a PHD in English from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and an MA in Creative Writing from Boston University. He is an Assistant Professor of English at Cornell University.
Novelist, youth and democracy activist, Obinna Udenwe is the author of The Dancing Bird (Trafford, Canada, 2009) - a book that mirrors the socio-cultural tensions that existed in an African society in the 15th – 16th centuries. His stories have appeared in Dreams at Dawn anthology, The Short Story is Dead, Long Live the Short Story anthology, Kalahari Review, Kadunaboy.com, Voice and Nation Newspapers and Tribe -Write Magazine.
